Ms. Kim
My name is Ms. Sarah Kim, and I am a Kindergarten teacher at Knollwood Preparatory Academy.I was born in Seoul, Korea and grew up in New Jersey. I earned my B.A. in Economics at New York University. I moved to California and earned my Multiple Subject teaching credential with BCLAD in Korean at California State of University of Northridge in 2007. My future plans include earning a MA in Curriculum and Instruction. In the meantime, I enjoy yoga, Zumba, traveling, shopping with friends and reading. I have found Kindergartners have the most marvel and magic among their peers, as it is a child’s unique first year in school. I love to incorporate plays, art, paper folding, and music in my curriculum. I see great academic growth by meeting student needs through small group instruction in the classroom. The way to do this is to utilize parent volunteers. I invite and encourage families to be a part of the learning experience in our class. I believe that as a community ‘happily’ working together, teachers, parents, and school staff can help our students to succeed. One of my favorite quotes about teaching is “Tell me and I’ll forget, Teach me and I’ll remember, Include me and I’ll learn!” |
